Mah-Jong is a charming, late nineteenth century, Chinese game played with engraved tiles. The game spread to other countries in the early twentieth century, becoming popular in the West in the 1920’s.  Along the way it changed into a number of different national forms. The British version is relatively close to the original Chinese game.
